B2B Rib, support and safety boats.

16 Apr 2021 by Nic Finlayson

To those bringing a rib or a safety boat to this event, thankyou for your help. Below are some details that are important for us to get right. If you have not been in contact with Anatole Perry from B2B to register your vessel, then please contact Nic Finlayson, 021 970169 to do so.

-All support boats on the course should display a large blue B&T battle flag so we can easily identify you. They have already been handed out to either yourselves or the ramp coordinators. If you have not registered your boat and wish to bring it, please contact Nic and pick up a B&T battle flag from RNZYS reception.
-All ribs and safety boats we have listed are integral to our safety boat ratios. In addition to your normal safety gear, make sure you have at least two persons in your boat, a towline and a VHF radio for coms.
-Use VHF17 as coms.
-We will do a radio check with all of you from 1100 onwards to check you are on the course.
-Please stay to the STH of the course, as much as possible, we want the safety boats to create a marshal zone between our competitors and the channel. When your fleet crosses from Torpedo to Orakei, stay to the STH of the fleet.
-Div B,C,D safety boats once your fleet head NTH from Bean Rock, keep to their WEST where possible.
-We have a marshal plan in place for the Ferry lane around Devonport wharf, please be on the lookout for ferries and we may need to hold back a section of the fleet for ferry traffic.
-Thankfully there is no shipping to consider on this SAT.
-Please spread out, and consider others in your fleet and not just your own child. This goes for capsizes or help required, the closest RIB will be expected to help.
-If there is an injury that cannot be managed by yourself, contact race management on VHF17 and we will take it from there.
-Marshalling to the south of the finish line. We have two finish lines to seperate the fleets. DivA must cross their line and turn SW away from the finish line of DivB C and D. This is to keep finished boats away from finishing boats.
-Do not cross back in front of the finish line, if you are returning to a ramp, cross to the Sth of Bean Rock (through the channel).

Any questions please contact Nic Finlayson. 021970169. nicjfin@outlook.com

Have a great day out there.
